A global manufacturer specialising in advanced label and packaging technology is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The organisation operates across multiple international locations and is recognised for delivering high‑performance, bespoke machinery solutions to customers worldwide.

About the Role

The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing, testing and modifying machine control software to ensure customised machinery performs to customer specifications. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to maintain seamless functionality across all control systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and modifying PLC, HMI and related control software

  • Testing and validating machine control systems to meet customer requirements

  • Providing technical expertise and support to service teams, electricians, contractors and clients

  • Working cross‑functionally with stakeholders across engineering and production

  • Supporting installations, diagnostics and system optimisation activities

  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation

  • Undertaking occasional international travel to company sites, customer facilities and supplier locations

About You

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience in control systems engineering within a manufacturing or machinery environment

  • Strong proficiency in PLC, HMI and associated software systems

  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills

  • Confidence in providing technical support to both internal teams and external customers

  • A relevant qualification such as HNC, HND or Degree level in a related engineering discipline
