IT Graduate Application Developer

Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £27,000 + On-Call Allowance

The Role

An exciting opportunity for a recent Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT graduate to join a growing business as an IT Graduate Application Developer. You'll work alongside experienced developers to design, develop, maintain, and support business-critical applications while gaining exposure to the full software development lifecycle.

Following training, you'll also participate in an out-of-hours support rota, attracting additional on-call payments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications.
• Write and test code using technologies such as C#, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, and Visual FoxPro.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
• Participate in code reviews and testing activities.
• Produce technical documentation and user guides.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Support continuous improvement and system development projects.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Understanding of software development principles and relational databases.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Placement, internship, or project experience in software development.
• Manufacturing industry knowledge.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
